Beason, Bosler named Zaxby's Athletes of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum University cross country runner Jackson Beason and soccer goalkeeper Bailey Bosler have been named the Zaxby's Athletes of the Week.  Bosler earns her second Athlete of the Week honor, while Beason garners his inaugural accolade this season.

Beason was the individual champion at the Lenoir-Rhyne Classic on Friday, covering the 8-kilometer course in 25:22.22. His time was the fourth-fastest in program history and gave Beason his first career race win. Tusculum finished second in the team standings.

The Maryville, Tennessee product has finished in the top 20 three times this season, and has cut more than a minute off his best 8K time from a year ago. His performances helped the Pioneers earn a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Southeast Region ranking for the first time in program history earlier this season.

In her only start of the week, Bosler had four saves as the Pioneers beat Lincoln Memorial 1-0 on the road in overtime. Tusculum was outshot by LMU 19-8 in the match, but Bosler delivered her second shutout in six starts this season.

The Waterloo, Illinois native has compiled a 3-2-1 record with a 1.12 goals against average and a .851 save percentage in her six starts. Her 40 saves are second on the team, and include a 12-saver performance against Wingate and 11 stops in a draw at Anderson on Oct. 13.
