GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College men and women's golf teams will host the Tusculum Fall Classic, this Monday and Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club.

The Fall Classic is a unique collegiate event, celebrating its 11th year this season.  The Classic is two tournaments held simultaneously.

The men's tournament will feature nine colleges and universities, including the Pioneers, who are the defending champions and have won this event five times in the Classic's history (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2015).

The women's event will feature players from six collegiate programs, including host Tusculum who is also the defending champion and are three-time winners of their home fall tournament (2006, 2012, 2015).

Participating in this year's men's field with Tusculum are fellow South Atlantic Conference members Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mars Hill and Lincoln Memorial, who has captured this event four times. Also participating in the 2016 TC Fall Classic are: Milligan, Spartanburg Methodist, Tennessee Wesleyan and 2014 NJCAA national champion Walters State.

Competing in this year's women's tournament are Tusculum, Brevard, Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, Mars Hill, Milligan and Spartanburg Methodist.

The Tusculum men and women are both coming off of tournament wins earlier this week at the Etowah Intercollegiate in Etowah, North Carolina.  The TC men posted a two-day score of 575 (-1) to win the event by 12 shots.  The TC women carded an 11-stroke victory with their 36-hole total of 623.  Senior Taylor Smith won medalists honors in the men's event with 70-70=140 (-4), while sophomore Katie Tomassoni birdied the final two holes to win the women's title with 76-75=151.
