Jerry Ricker will remain at his alma mater as cross country graduate assistant for the 2026 season.
Ricker received numerous accolades during his four-year career at Tusculum, including team captain and Student Government Association senior class representative. Ricker was the recipient of the prestigious South Atlantic Conference Bob McCloskey Insurance Postgraduate Scholarship, which he will use to pursue a master of arts degree in teaching.
As a member of the Pioneer cross country and track and field programs, Ricker competed three times at the SAC Cross Country Championship. He set career bests in the 1500 meters and 5000 meters in his final career race in each event during the 2026 track and field season, and had a sixth-place run in the 3000 meters at the Blue Bear Invitational on March 28.
A native of Kingsport, Tennessee, Ricker was junior Homecoming prince and senior Homecoming king and was the recipient of the Tusculum School Spirit Award. He was also a multi-year member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. Ricker graduated cum laude from Tusculum in May, 2026 with a bachelor of science degree in sport science, pre-physical therapy/occupational therapy.
