NEWBERRY, S.C. --- The Tusculum University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the South Atlantic Conference Championship, held Saturday at The Farm.

The Pioneer men finished 11th and the women placed 10th in the field of 13 teams. A total of 102 men and 104 women completed the races.

MEN'S RECAP
Sophomore Simon Ray was the Pioneers' top finisher as he took 55th place was a time of 27:59.98 for the 8-kilometer race. Freshman Levi Carson was 71st in 29:27.37, with senior Ryan Drysch in 84th place at 30:47.04.

Freshman Jack Watson took 96th overall at 32:46.60, and freshman Konnor Weaver finished in 98th place at 34:15.59.

Wingate won the men's team championship for the fourth straight year, with four of the top five finishers. Will Aitken of Wingate was the individual winner at 23:46.00, beating teammate Joaquin Campos by six seconds.

WOMEN'S RECAP
Grad student Tashianna Gray was Tusculum's top finisher as she placed 35th overall in the six-kilometer race with a time of 23:40.37. Freshman Sofia Cuesta Fuoss was 75th in 27:20.33, followed directly by grad student Alayna Suitte in 76th place at 27:20.47.

Grad student Megan Humiston finished 81st overall in 28:01.19, and junior Victoria Caliendo was 87th in 28:53.83.

Wingate took its fourth straight SAC team title as it placed four runners in the top 10. Catawba's Madison Clay won the individual championship with a time of 21:26.23, taking the title by nine seconds ahead of runner-up Grace Burrell of Wingate.
