GREENEVILLE, Tenn. ---
Maggie Bernabei has committed to attend Tusculum College and run
cross country for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Suzanne
Byrd.
Bernabei, a native of Crossville, Tenn., earned All-State honors
four times at Cumberland County High School. She finished in the
top seven at the TSSAA Championship four times and was named her
team's most valuable runner in 2011. She also placed 18th in the
Chattanooga League and has personal best times of 21:21 (5K), 13:02
(3200m) and 2:37 (800m).
"Maggie is a very good runner with great potential and a determined work ethic," said Coach Byrd. "She will have an immediate impact on our Women's team with her talent and competitiveness. I look forward to working with her for the next four years as we continue to build our Women's program."
Bernabei becomes the third commitment to the Tusculum program during the national signing period, joining Lawson Burrow (Greeneville, Tenn./Chuckey-Doak HS) and Allison Hall (Greeneville, Tenn./Greeneville HS).
Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of 10 colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
