Tusculum College men's and Women's cross country coach Suzanne
Byrd has announced that a pair of student-athletes have committed
to run with the Pioneers beginning with the 2012 season. Lawson
Burrow will compete for the men's program, while Allison Hall will

All-Region honoree and a three-time All-BRAC runner for head coach
Phil Roberts, and was named All-State in track and field with a
personal record of 2:01 in the 800 meters.
Burrow's time of 16:43.97 in the BRAC championship at Panther Creek
in Morristown meet was a personal record and set a new conference
record, breaking the old mark of 16:50.14 set by former Black
Knight and future Pioneer teammate David Cooper in 2009.
"Lawson is an outstanding student and athlete. He will have an
immediate impact on our team with his talent and leadership," said
Byrd, who will begin her third season as cross country coach. "I am
looking forward to bringing him on board as we continue to build
our team."
Hall ran for Greeneville High School and was a member of the 2010
TSSAA team champions and 2011 state runner-up Lady Devils of head
coach Larry Blalock. Hall was named All-BRAC in 2010 and received
the Most Inspirational Award. Her personal record in the 5K is
22:47.
"I am excited to bring Allison on board for next season. "She has
unlimited potential and will bring a strong work ethic to our
Women's team," Byrd said. "In addition to being a good athlete, she
is even more outstanding as a student and as a team member."
