GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum University women's volleyball team made Wingate work on Friday night (Oct. 18) in Pioneer Arena, despite a three-set sweep.

The Pioneers (7-11, 5-5 SAC) fell in the season's lone matchup to the Bulldogs (16-2, 8-1 SAC) by scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-18.

Sydney Morland finished with a match-high 11 kills on a .304 hitting percentage for Wingate, who is receiving votes in the national poll. Maya Van Heyst was four kills shy of a triple-double with six kills, 26 assists, and a match-best 17 digs. Emily Johnson tallied three service aces. Three Bulldogs were credited with a pair of block assists: Johnson, Morland, and Elsa Lamphere.

For Tusculum, Addison McLarty finished with eight kills, just ahead of McKayla Willey's seven on a .333 clip. Martina Foster also hit at the same rate for six kills. Additionally, Olivia Crowl (3), Whitney Thompson (3), Madison Adkins (1), and Karris Oller (1) were listed in the offensive column. Adkins recorded 21 assists as Sofia De Los Mozos and Amiranee Au notched the TU aces. De Los Mozos led the Pioneers with 16 digs, while Au added 12. Adkins rounded out her double-double with 14 scoops. Four players were credited with a block assist: Oller, McLarty, Crowl, and Thompson.

Wingate hit .236 as a team with 47 kills and 13 errors on 144 total attempts. Tusculum hit .103 with 29 kills, 16 errors, and 126 total attacks. The Bulldogs led the match in assists (41-25), service aces (7-2), and total blocks (4-2), while the Pioneers tallied more digs (76-74).

Tusculum hits the road for the next three matches, starting with a back-to-back against Limestone and UVA Wise (Oct. 22-23). First serve for both contests is 7 p.m.
