Four Pioneers honored with league awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The Tusculum University women's volleyball team saw four of its members recognized by the South Atlantic Conference on Tuesday (Nov. 14). Emiah Burrowes was tabbed to the first team for the third consecutive season, joined by Madison Adkins and Aly Freeland on the third team. Caley Sosnowski was selected to the All-Freshman team.

For the third-straight season, the Pioneers find two on the third team. Sosnowski marks head coach Danielle Marante's fifth freshman honoree in her tenure.

Burrowes, a native of Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, led the Pioneers with 293 kills in the regular season, fifth-most across the SAC. The graduate student's kills per set rate of 3.53 was the third-highest in the league. The outside hitter also totaled the third-most digs for TU with 207. Adkins is on her way to becoming the 13th setter in program history to reach 1,000 career assists.

Freeland, a senior from Tallahassee, Florida, finished with the second-most kills for Tusculum with 226. The outside hitter landed a conference-leading 45 service aces to be named the statistical champion. Freeland's aces per set rate of 0.54 was good for third in the SAC.
