Burrowes, Thompson named to Rollins All-Tournament Team

WINTER PARK, Fla. --- Emiah Burrowes and Whitney Thompson of the Tusculum University women's volleyball team were named to the Rollins Invitational All-Tournament Team on Monday (Sept. 11).

Burrowes, a graduate student from Wesley Chapel, North Carolina, played in all 13 sets across the four matches at Rollins. The outside hitter totaled 42 kills on a .330 hitting percentage, 45 digs, one service ace, one assist, and four total blocks (one solo, three assists). Burrowes averaged 3.23 kills and 3.46 digs per frame.

Against Florida Tech, Burrowes notched 14 kills on a .344 clip alongside a season-best 21 digs. She hit .333 or better in three of the four matches in the Sunshine State. Burrowes was also credited with three total blocks (one solo, two assists) against the hosting Tars.

Thompson, a junior middle blocker from Arroyo Grande, California, recorded 26 kills on a .244 clip, three digs, and 15 block assists in 13 sets played. She averaged two kills and 1.15 blocks per set.

In the finale versus Panthers, Thompson racked up 10 kills on a .409 rate, adding four blocks at the net. She also tied her career-high seven block assists in the match against Chadron State.
