ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum setter Shannon Murphy has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Specialist of the Week.

Murphy averaged 10.69 assists and 3.23 digs to lead the Pioneers to a perfect 3-0 South Atlantic Conference record last week.  She totaled 15 kills, 139 assists, four service aces, 42 digs and seven blocks for the week.

The Tinley Park, Illinois senior dished out 43 assists and 19 digs in TC's 3-2 road won at Carson-Newman.  She also posted five kills and two blocks as the Pioneers avenged an earlier season loss to their arch-rivals.

She followed with 36 assists, 10 digs, six kills and three blocks in Tusculum's 3-0 sweep over Newberry.  She finished the match hitting .500 (6-1-10) to go along with her two service aces.

Murphy recorded a career-high 60 assists in the Pioneers' 3-2 come-from-behind win over Coker.  She also totaled 13 digs, four kills, two aces and two blocks in TC's fourth straight victory.  The 60 assists are also the ninth most in TC history (5-set match).

Following Tuesday's home match with King, the Pioneers will travel to Anderson Friday night for a 7 p.m. match from the Abney Athletic Center.
