GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College head
volleyball coach Michael Robinson has announced the signing of Ally
Soldati of Lenoir, North Carolina as one of the final members of
the Pioneers' incoming 2015 class.
Soldati joins Victoria Dierickx of Greenville, South Carolina,
Kayla Hartley of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Melissa Mazur of Chicago,
Illinois as Tusculum signees from the most recent spring signing
period.
Soldati is a 6-0 middle blocker out of Hibriten High School
and the Carolina Crush Volleyball Club. She is a three-time
first-team All-Conference selection and was the team MVP in her
final three years as a Panther. Off the court, Soldati was named to
the Academic Honor Roll in all four years that she earned a letter
and was a member of the Beta Club.
Soldati compiled 199 kills during her senior campaign and
averaged 3.4 kills per set. She recorded 84 total blocks (80 solo)
for an average of 1.4 per set. Soldati also had 130 digs, 26
service aces and 15 assists.
"Ally not only adds size to our roster, but also a great deal
of athleticism and power," said Robinson. "She has a great
offensive skill set and is a strong defender while putting up a
fantastic block. Her knowledge of the game is extremely high and
she adds a wealth of experience to our team."
Soldati and the three other spring commitments join early
signees Cassie Born and Madison Shumaker as the six members of TC's
highly touted 2015 freshman class.
Tusculum will be looking to build off its ninth-straight
winning season and its fourth place finish in the South Atlantic
Conference in 2014. The Pioneers return two All-SAC performers from
last season and a pair of seniors.
