
INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College
volleyball continues to be listed sixth in this week's NCAA
Division II Southeast Region rankings. The Pioneers are one of six
South Atlantic Conference teams listed in this week's poll.
Wingate takes over the top spot in the conference as the Bulldogs
leaped over Armstrong Atlantic, who is second in this week's poll.
The next five spots remain the same as last week with Flagler
third, followed by Lincoln Memorial, Catawba, Tusculum and
Newberry. Lenoir-Rhyne is up one spot and is in eighth, followed
by UNC Pembroke and USC Aiken to round out the poll.
Tournament champions of the South Atlantic Conference, Peach Belt Conference and Conference Carolinas will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament. There will also be five at-large bids to the NCAA postseason, which begins Nov. 17 at campus sites.
Tusculum (17-11, 10-8 SAC) is in quest of its third straight NCAA Tournament berth after clinching its sixth consecutive winning season.
The Pioneers are the No. 4 seed in this week's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament, and they will face fifth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal round match at Mars Gym on the campus of Lincoln Memorial in Harrogate, Tenn. The winner of the Tusculum/Lenoir-Rhyne match will face either Wingate or Carson-Newman in a Saturday semifinal. The Food Lion SAC Tournament final will be played on Sunday at 2 p.m.
