MARS HILL, N.C. --- Three Tusculum College
student-athletes garnered South Atlantic Conference Volleyball
honors during the opening day of the 2008 Food Lion SAC Tournament,
held on the campus of Mars Hill College.
Sophomore outside hitter Katie Luebke was named
to the All-Conference First Team, while Peyton
Colclough and Carly Swisher were named to
the SAC All-Freshmen Team.
Luebke, a 6-2 native of Bellefontaine, Ohio, is a two-time All-SAC
selection, earning Second Team honors in 2007. She leads the team
in kills per set, averaging 3.57 per game, while also posting .217
attack percentage and 35 service aces. Luebke is also averaging
0.42 blocks and 1.91 digs per set.
Colclough, a 5-10 setter from Manassas, Va., was the SAC
Statistical Champion for assists per set, averaging 9.37 helpers
per frame. She earned SAC Player of the Week honors earlier this
season and leads the team with 43 service aces, while also posting
1.95 digs per set.
Swisher, a 6-2 outside hitter from Fort Collins, Colo., has a .286
hitting percentage while averaging 2.66 kills per set. She is
averaging 0.71 blocks per set and is second on the team in serving
with 37 aces to her credit.
Tusculum captured the team statistical award for blocking,
averaging two rejections per set.
