
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Coker University defeated Tusculum University 4-1 in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The 46th-ranked Cobras (9-2, 5-1 SAC) won the doubles point and the final three completed singles matches to finish the victory over the Pioneers (0-8, 0-4 SAC).
In doubles, the Tusculum team of Ylva Frafjord Landa and Elodie Baechler beat Jade Bellegy and Emerson Banning 6-1 at flight one. However, the Cobras clinched the point with a 6-4 win at flight two.
Baechler gave Tusculum its lone singles point with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Ilona Hernandez-Sanchez at flight two, but the Cobras won at flights four, five and six in straight sets to claim the match.
The Pioneers will wrap up their five-match home stand on Monday, March 17 with a non-conference contest against Purdue Northwest, beginning at 11 a.m.
