
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The University of Indianapolis defeated Tusculum University 4-0 in non-conference women's tennis Wednesday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Greyhounds (5-5) won two of three matches to take the doubles point, then won the first three singles matches to clinch the victory over the Pioneers (0-7).
In doubles, the Pioneers opened play with a 6-2 victory at flight three by Thilda Danielsson and Samira Butt over Suryanshi and Linya Chen. However, the Greyhounds took flight one 6-2 and flight two 7-5 to go up 1-0 in the match.
In singles, Suryashi beat Ylva Frafjord Landa 6-2, 6-1 at flight one and Chen defeated Danielsson 6-3, 6-0 at flight three. Jimena De Pablos clinched the victory for UIndy as she outlasted Elodie Baechler 6-1, 5-7, (10-5) in a tiebreaker.
The Pioneers continue their homestand on Saturday, March 15 with an 11 a.m. match against 46th-ranked Coker.
