TEMPE, Ariz. --- The Tusculum University women's tennis program has been honored for a 13th consecutive year by being named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team.
The Pioneers were among 112 women's tennis programs in NCAA Division II honored by the ITA as an All-Academic Team, with four members receiving ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction. TU had the highest cumulative grade point average among the University's 23 athletic programs with a 3.75 GPA.
ITA Scholar Athletes must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the 2023-24 academic year, with ITA All-Academic Team recognition based on a team GPA of 3.2 or above. Across Division II, a total of 759 women were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes for the 2023-24 academic year.
Tusculum women named ITA Scholar Athletes were: Elodie Baechler (La Rippe, Switzerland), Thilda Danielsson (Ahus, Sweden), Paulina Loretz (San Mateo Atenco, Mexico) and Johanna Palacio (Mar del Plata, Argentina).
The Pioneers posted a 14-8 season and finished tied for fourth in the South Atlantic Conference standings. TU earns ITA All-Academic Team laurels for an 18th time in school history.
