
TEMPE, Ariz. --- The Tusculum University women's tennis team is 37th in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II national team rankings, the ITA announced Wednesday.
The Pioneers (11-5, 5-2 SAC) defeated 32nd-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne 4-3 in their only match and climbed six positions in this week's rankings. The Pioneers are 2-3 against ranked opponents this season.
Tusculum is joined in this week's rankings by fellow SAC members Wingate (13th), Lenoir-Rhyne (30th), Newberry (33rd) and Limestone (34th). Non-conference opponents of the Pioneers who are ranked are North Georgia (4th) and Charleston (38th).
Due to cold weather expected on Thursday, the Pioneers' next match against Carson-Newman has been rescheduled for Monday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at the Nichols Tennis Complex. Tusculum will now return to action on Saturday, April 6 at 13th-ranked Wingate (12-1, 7-0 SAC) at 11 a.m.
