The Tusculum College Women's tennis team has earned the #2 seed
for the South Atlantic Conference Tennis Championship, which begins
Thursday on the campus of Brevard College in Brevard, north
Carolina.
The Pioneers, who finished 19-4 overall and 10-1 in conference
action, earned a bye into Friday's semifinal round. Tusculum will
play at 9 a.m. Friday against the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal
match between #3 seed Queens University of Charlotte and #6 seed
Coker.
On the other side of the bracket, top-seeded Wingate University
will play Friday at 9 a.m. against the winner of the quarterfinal
on Thursday between #4 seed Newberry and #5 seed Lincoln
Memorial.
The semifinal winners will meet on Saturday at 9 a.m. for the
conference championship and the automatic bid to the NCAA Division
II Tournament. Tusculum has won two conference tournament
championships, in 2004 and 2014.
