
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College dropped a total of three games in a 9-0 victory over Brevard College in South Atlantic Conference Women's tennis action Sunday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The 44th-ranked Pioneers (13-3, 5-1 SAC) won five of the six contested singles matches and both doubles matches without losing a game against the Tornados (2-15, 0-9 SAC).
In doubles, Erin Mills and Kealee Heffner teamed for an 8-0 victory at flight one over Anita Maryskova and Nirvanna Silva, while Franziska Funke and Amanda Sumner beat Rachael Stanford and Kristen Rathbun 8-0 at flight two. Tusculum won the third doubles point by forfeit.
In singles, the Pioneers picked up a forfeit win at flight six before clinching the match as Adrienne Kaye defeated Stanford 6-0, 6-0. Emily Waters won at flight four by a score of 6-0, 6-0 over Claire Dysart, and Heffner downed Maryskova 6-0, 6-0 at flight one.
Sumner was an 8-0 winner over Rathbun at flight five, and the final point went to Mills at flight two by a 6-3, 6-1 score over Silva.
Tusculum will be on the road Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Coker to complete a match that was suspended due to weather on March 26. The Pioneers led the Cobras 3-0 following doubles at the time the match was halted.
