
The Tusculum College Women's tennis team did not lose a game in
a 9-0 victory over Kutztown University in the team's final match
during their annual spring break trip to Hilton Head.
The 47th-ranked Pioneers (9-1) swept all six singles matches from
the Golden Bears (0-5) by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores, and won all
three doubles pro sets 8-0 for the Pioneers' seventh shutout of the
season.
In singles play, the Pioneers received wins from Franziska Funke,
Erin Mills, Adrienne Kaye, Emily Waters, Jule Brass and Amanda
Sumner. In doubles action, Tusculum victories came from Funke and
Sumner at flight one, Mills and Kealee Heffner at flight two, and
Kaye and Waters at flight three.
Tusculum will travel to Cullowhee, North Carolina on Sunday for a
match with Division I Western Carolina, which is scheduled to begin
at 2:30 p.m.
