SALISBURY, N.C. --- The 36th ranked Tusculum College women's tennis team rolled past Catawba College on Saturday, besting the Indians by a 9-0 score.

The Pioneers (11-1, 3-1 SAC) swept through doubles and singles play without dropping a set. Franziska Funke and Kate Hutchinson didn't drop a game in their respective singles matches against the Indians (8-9, 0-6 SAC). Funke was victorious at number three singles versus Maddy Henderson (6-0, 6-0), while Hutchinson defeated Sloan Kessler 8-0 at number four.

Kealee Heffner edged Liz Renteria 7-5 in the first set before closing out the match with 6-2 second-set win in the top singles spot. Erin Mills picked up a victory in the second position over Kristen Rocko (6-1, 6-1) while Sarah Baker defeated Lauren Sledd 8-2 in the fifth flight. Adrienne Kaye completed the singles sweep with a win over Rachel Rudisill (6-2, 6-2) in the sixth position.

Amanda Sumner teamed with Funke in the top doubles flight and had little trouble against Renteria and Rocko (8-0). Kaye and Emily Waters didn't drop a game to Kessler and Rudisill (8-0) at number two, while Heffner and Hutchinson were tested by Sledd and Henderson in the second spot but came away with the 9-7 win.

The Pioneers will return to the courts next Saturday when they play host to Coker College beginning at 2 p.m.
