GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's tennis team posted a 9-0 season-opening victory over visiting Johnson C. Smith University Saturday afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.

The Pioneers (1-0) are victorious in their season-opener, while JCSU falls to 0-3 on the young campaign.

The No. 2 doubles team of Courtney Conley and Kristen Keefer posted an 8-2 win over Rolanda Sue and Margaret Jones as the Pioneers swept the three doubles matches.

In singles play, Katelyn Doss, Taylor Patterson, Conley, Megan Buckmaster, Blake Thompson and Katie Hillis all won in straight sets to complete the shutout.

The Pioneers will host Bluefield State College next Sunday (Oct. 10) in a 1 p.m. match at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
