
ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College's Courtney
Conley has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis
Player of the Week announced league officials Wednesday.
Conley, a freshman from Bristol, Tenn. (Tennessee HS), posted a 4-1
singles record to lead the Pioneers to victories in four of their
five matches last week. The Pioneers posted wins over Lenoir-Rhyne,
North Greenville, East Stroudsburg and Young Harris. TC's only
set-back was at fourth-ranked Francis Marion.
Conley won in straight sets in three of her four victories. Against North Greenville, Conley rallied from a set down to win 3-6, 6-4, 10-6. She also went 4-1 at No. 2 doubles with teammate Taylor Patterson.
Since joining the program this spring, Conley is 5-1 in singles and doubles play.
Following Wednesday's match with 49th-ranked Charleston (W.Va.), Tusculum will wrap up its four-day Spring Break trip on Thursday as the Pioneers face Upper Iowa for an 8 a.m. match at Hilton Head Island
