HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. --- The No. 27 Tusculum College women's tennis team defeated Tiffin University, 8-1 Tuesday morning at Hilton Head Island.

The Pioneers improve to 8-2 on the year, while the Dragons slip to 3-13 overall.

Tusculum swept all three doubles matches, including an 8-0 win by the No. 3 duo of Blake Thompson and Heidi von der Lage. Katelyn Doss and Caroline Crowe battled to a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles over the Tiffin pair of Taylor Cooper and Jessica Stefanov.

The Pioneers got singles victories by Jennifer Sparks, Amanda Pike, Jessi Smith, Kristen Keefer and Katie Hillis.

Tusculum will wrap up their Spring Break trip to Hilton Head on Wednesday when the Pioneers face Ashland University at 8 a.m.
