WISE, Va. --- Katelyn Doss accounted for
points in singles and doubles as the No. 31 Tusculum College
women's tennis team blanked the University of Virginia's College at
Wise Tuesday afternoon. The Pioneers (5-0) remain undefeated on the
young season, while posting their third shutout of the year.
Doss and No. 1 doubles partner Caroline Crowe
recorded an 8-1 pro set victory over the UVA-Wise team of
Kelsey Adkins and Whitney
Bolling. Doss posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles over
Bolling. Jennifer Sparks also accounted for a 6-1,
6-2 win against Adkins at No. 1 singles. Amanda
Pike recorded a straight set victory (6-0, 6-1) against
Kayla Kilgore at No. 3 singles to seal the
win.
Tusculum will be at home this Thursday when the Pioneers host King
College for a 2 p.m. match at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
