Tartrou honored as SAC Defensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University sophomore goalkeeper Noemie Tartrou has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 3, the SAC office announced Tuesday.

Tartrou made 20 saves across two matches for the Pioneers, earning her first shutout at Tusculum in a 5-0 victory at Mars Hill on Wednesday by making three saves. On Saturday against ninth-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne, Tartrou came within one of tying the program record for saves in a match as she had 17 stops in a 2-1 setback to the Bears.

The Herblay-sur-Seine, France native has appeared in seven matches this season, making four starts, and has 41 saves for a .719 save percentage.

The Pioneers (4-10-1, 2-7-1 SAC) conclude the regular season at home on Wednesday, Nov. 6 against Carson-Newman, beginning at 5 p.m. Tusculum needs a win over the Eagles to remain in contention for a berth in the upcoming SAC Championship tournament, which begins Saturday.
