KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- The Tusculum University women's soccer team is ranked eighth in the Southeast Region in the inaugural United Soccer Coaches Division II regional rankings of the 2022 season.
The Pioneers have won their first three matches in a season for the first time since 2004, with victories over King (7-0), Young Harris (2-1) and West Alabama (3-2).
Tusculum is ranked in the United Soccer Coaches regional poll for the first time since the 2018 season, when the Pioneers were ranked as high as sixth in the early part of the year.
Columbus State is the top-ranked team in the region, followed by Catawba, Wingate and Flagler. UNC Pembroke is ranked fifth, with North Georgia in sixth and Limestone seventh. Following Tusculum are Lander in ninth and Anderson tenth in the poll.
The United Soccer Coaches college rankings are an indicator of the week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for NCAA championship selection.
The Pioneers will bid for their fourth straight victory to open the season for the first time since 2001 when Lenoir-Rhyne visits Pioneer Field for a 5 p.m. South Atlantic Conference match on Saturday, Sept. 10.
