CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Ashley Osiecki's penalty
kick goal in the 60th minute led the Queens University of Charlotte
women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over visiting Tusculum College
Wednesday at the Queens Sports Complex. It was the South Atlantic
Conference opener for both teams.
With the victory, Queens evens its record at 3-3 (1-0 SAC), while
snapping the Pioneers (3-3, 0-1 SAC) three-match winning
streak.
Royals' keeper Tori Danchak posted her second 1-0 shutout of the young season and recorded three saves in the match.
Tusculum keeper Miriah Martin tallied six saves while going the distance in goal for the Pioneers.
TC was credited with a dozen shots in the contest, including four by Taylor Lewis and two each from Gabrielle Whitt and Carly Mill.
Tusculum returns to action Saturday night as they travel to Hickory, North Carolina to take on 13th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University at 7 p.m.
