GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Freshman Carly Mill recorded a goal and an assist as Tusculum College posted a 3-1 victory over Union University Friday night at Pioneer Field in women's soccer action.

With the victory, the Pioneers even their record at 2-2 on the season, while the Bulldogs (0-3) remain winless on the young campaign.

Both teams will be in action on Sunday afternoon in Greeneville. Union takes on Lenoir-Rhyne University for a noon kickoff at the TC Upper Soccer Field. TC will entertain Ohio Dominican University on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from Pioneer Field.

Tusculum owned a dominating 27-3 shot advantage including 9-0 in the opening half, but no goals to show for it until the closing seconds of the period. With 30 seconds before the intermission, Payton DeHart blasted a shot from the right side heading towards the far post, but was tipped aside by Union keeper Kristen Francis. Rookie Emma MacDonald gathered in the rebound on the left side and shot from a tough angle to the far post to find the top right corner of the net to give TC a 1-0 lead.

In the second half, Taylor Lewis gave Tusculum a 2-0 lead when she scored on a breakaway in the 59th minute and got off a shot past Francis to the left corner for her second goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Mill.

The Bulldogs took advantage of an errant goal kick from TC keeper Miriah Martin. Honeye Heydari came up with the turnover and scored from 15 yards out to trim the deficit to 2-1.

Mill added an insurance goal at the 83:05 mark when she took a pass from Cheyenne Upton just outside the goal box and back-heeled an amazing shot into the net while falling forward to providing the final margin of victory for the Pioneers.

Martin picked up the victory as she posted one save on the evening, while Francis tallied five saves in the loss.

Lewis and MacDonald led the shot-parade for Tusculum with seven shots each, while Mill and DeHart accounted for four shots apiece. TC also owned a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
