GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team has announced the signing of 12 commitments to join the Pioneers in the fall of 2015 said TC head coach Mike Joy.

This year's commitment class consists of four midfielders, two forwards, two goalkeepers and a defender. Seven U.S. States are represented as well as one commitment each from Canada and Sweden.

"We are excited about our 2015 commitment class, as we have addressed most of our needs heading into next season," said Joy.

Head coach Mike Joy on the commitments:

"We signed two strikers, Carly Mill and Emma McDonald, that will bring much needed height, strength, and speed to our front line. Both are well rounded athletes, and have excelled in other sports as well.

"Our midfield was hard hit with graduation, and our only returning starting midfield players are rising seniors. We signed Katja Andersson from Sweden who will step in for us as a defending midfielder. We also signed some strong attacking midfielders in Ellie Tomassoni, Gabby Corral, and Brooke Schreder.

"On the defensive end, we signed Lia Clark, a central defender from Ft. Worth, Texas. We are looking to fill a void in our young defense as we are replacing one of our starting defenders from this past season.

"Goalkeeping was a big need as we graduated a four-year starter in net that broke most of the school records. "We are excited to bring in two new keepers, Hannah Graham and Madison Huckabee, and we expect both to challenge for playing time next season.

"As a whole, this class will provide much needed depth in areas that we had to strengthen. I fully expect for each one of these signees to challenge for playing time next season, and our goals and expectations will be high for them and the team in 2015."
