BANNER ELK, N.C. --- Taylor Lewis netted a pair of goals in leading the Tusculum College women's soccer team to a 4-1 victory at Lees-McRae College Wednesday night at Tate Field.

The Pioneers (6-3-1) scored a season-high four goals on the evening, finding the back of the net twice in each half.

For Lewis, it was her team-leading fourth and fifth goals of the year, while also recording her third match-winner of the season.

Kelli McCalla opened up the scoring in the 27th minute with a shot from 25 yards away into the top right corner for her first goal of 2014. Payton DeHart assisted on the goal, her second helper of the year.

Lewis made it a two-goal advantage at the 30:21 mark as she beat the keeper one-on-one to the goal. The TC was assisted by Courtney Hackney and Olivia Kilgore.

The Bobcats (3-5) trimmed the deficit in half early in the second period when Makaela Renfro blasted a shot from 25 yards out into the back of the net in the 48th minute for her second scoring tally of the sason.

Tusculum answered 16 seconds later when sophomore Shannele Sunderland scored her third goal of the year. Her first shot was initially stopped by LMC keeper Kaitlyn Briggs, but Sunderland gathered in the rebound and tallied TC's third goal of the night to give the Pioneers their second two-goal lead of the match.

Lewis capped off the Tusculum scoring with her second goal of the evening in the 84th minute to secure the victory for the Pioneers.

Tusculum out-shot the Bobcats by a 19-9 margin, including 11-2 in the opening 45 minutes.

TC keeper Miriah Martin remains undefeated on the season (4-0-0) as she finished with three saves in the contest. Briggs suffered the loss as she posted seven saves on TC's 11 shots on goal.
