WILSON, N.C. --- Tramicka James became the first Tusculum College player in eight years to score four goals in a game, as the Pioneers routed Barton College 8-0 in a non-conference Women's soccer match Saturday afternoon.

James scored in the 34th, 37th, 48th and 62nd minutes and also chipped in with an assist as the Pioneers (6-6) built a 3-0 lead by halftime and added five goals in the second half against the Bulldogs (1-9).

Her four-goal performance was the first for a Pioneer since Erin Wallace netted four against Newberry on October 12, 2002, and was two shy of the school record of six set by Rachel Barron against Lee on September 27, 2000. James' nine points equaled Wallace for the second-highest single-game total in program history, behind the 12-point effort from Barron.

Michelle Meade, Amber Bradley, Claire Duncan and Ariana Sigmon also scored goals for the Pioneers, while the defense held Barton without a shot on goal in the match.

Meade opened the scoring at 6:15 by taking a cross from James and firing home her seventh goal of the season. James then took over, scoring three consecutive goals over a 14-minute span. Her first goal at 33:49, a bullet from the center of the box, gave the Pioneers a 2-0 lead. Just over three minutes later, she drove down the right side and found the short side for a 3-0 lead at 36:56.

James completed the hat trick 2:57 into the second half with a shot into the right corner for a 4-0 Tusculum lead, then Bradley extended the lead to 5-0 at 53:36 with her second goal of the season from the top of the box and Sigmon netted her first goal of the season at 57:10 for a 6-0 advantage.

At 61:56, James collected a pass from Patience Leonard and put home her fourth goal of the afternoon and ninth of the season to give the Pioneers a 7-0 lead. Duncan capped the scoring at 80:47 by scoring on a 40-yard blast for her third goal of the year.

Rachael Jennings and Kelsey Cunningham split the game in goal for Tusculum, as the Pioneers recorded their third consecutive shutout victory. Mileika Miki played 71 minutes for Barton and gave up seven goal, with Sarah Moore allowing one goal in 19 minutes of playing time for the Bulldogs.

Tusculum will carry its three-match winning streak into a home match with Anderson next Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Niswonger Sports Complex / Pioneer Field.
