WHEELOCK NAMED ASSISTANT Women's SOCCER COACH

Keyton Wheelock GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Keyton Wheelock has been named new assistant women's soccer coach at Tusculum College, announced Pioneer head coach Mike Joy.

Wheelock will assist in all aspects of the program, including practice planning, recruiting, travel coordination and game management. She will also serve as the goalkeeper coach for the Pioneers.

"I feel very fortunate to have an assistant coach that will help us immediately as Keyton will perform many duties, one of which is training our goalkeepers," said Coach Joy. "She has an impressive resume as a collegiate keeper, and her enthusiasm for the sport as well as her desire to excel as a coach will help us tremendously."

Wheelock, a native of Traverse City, Mich., is a recent graduate of Concordia University-St. Paul in St. Paul, Minn. where she recorded 13 career shutouts as a three-year starting goalkeeper. During her career at Concordia, Wheelock was a 2008 All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference selection and earned NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors on two occasions.

Wheelock brings a wealth of coaching experience from the club level, and has served on the coaching staff for several camps in the St. Paul area. Wheelock is a certified coach with the United States Soccer Foundation.

Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of nine colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
