ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University has been chosen to finish eighth in the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse preseason coaches poll, the SAC office announced Thursday.
Junior goalkeeper Emily White was voted first-team preseason All-SAC by the conference's media relations offices. White, a third-team All-Conference selection in 2024, led the SAC in both total saves (167) and in saves per game (10.44), while ranking second in save percentage at .451. The Roswell, Georgia native started all 16 games and reached double figures in saves nine times, including a program single-game record with 22 saves against Limestone on Feb. 21 of last season.
Limestone, which won the SAC Tournament championship last year, took the top spot in the preseason poll with nine first-place votes and 119 points. Wingate was second with three first-place votes and 113 points, followed by Newberry (97), Anderson (86) and Lenoir-Rhyne (78) in the top five.
UVA Wise (73 points) was sixth, trailed by Lincoln Memorial (70), Tusculum (48), Catawba (45), Mars Hill (29), Coker (18) and Emory & Henry (16).
The Pioneers visit Shorter to open the season on Saturday, Feb. 8 and host Montevallo in the home opener on Friday, Feb. 14. Tusculum begins SAC play on Saturday, March 1 at home against Catawba.
