ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University senior midfielder Lucy Brewer and sophomore goalkeeper Emily White were each named All-South Atlantic Conference in women's lacrosse for the 2024 season, the SAC office announced Tuesday.
Brewer was a second-team All-SAC honoree at midfield while White was a third-team selection at goalkeeper for the Pioneers, who finished 5-11 overall and 3-7 in conference play during the season.
Brewer, a native of Williamstown, Australia, was a third-team All-SAC selection last season. She led the Pioneers in nearly all statistical categories, including goals (37), points (48), shot attempts (89), shots on goal (67), ground balls (41), draw controls (81) and caused turnovers (28). Brewer's 81 draw controls were a program single-season record.
Brewer scored at least one goal in all 16 matches for the Pioneers, and had eight or more draw controls four times including 11 against both Catawba on Feb. 28 and Emory & Henry on April 13. Her 37 goals are sixth-most in the SAC while she was ranked fifth in the conference per game in ground balls (2.56), caused turnovers (1.75) and draw controls (5.06).
Brewer finished her Tusculum career ranked sixth in points (130), fifth in goals (104), eighth in assists (26), fourth in ground balls (105), third in draw controls (203) and second in caused turnovers (73) in just three seasons.
White led the SAC in both total saves (167) and in saves per game (10.44), while ranking second in save percentage at .451. White's 167 saves are currently fourth-most in Division II this season, and her 10.44 saves per game are 10th-best in the country.
The Roswell, Georgia native started all 16 games in goal for the Pioneers and reached double figures in saves nine times, while posting a save percentage of 50 percent or better in seven matches. White set a program single-season record with 22 saves against Limestone on Feb. 21 and tied for the second-most in a match with 19 against UVA Wise on April 17. Her 22 saves against Limestone are tied for the second-most in a game in Division II this season.
In two seasons, White ranks third in career saves at Tusculum (220) and leads in career save percentage at .441. Her 12.91 goals against average in 30 games is third-best in school history.
