Padilla finishes runner-up at Emmanuel Invite, Pioneers sixth

HARTWELL, Ga. --- Tusculum junior Reagan Padilla tied for runner-up honors at the 2025 Emmanuel Spring Invitational which was held at the Cateechee Ranch Golf Club.

The Pioneers finished sixth in the 12-team tournament field as TU posted a two-day, 36-hole score of 636 including Tuesday's final round 320.

Padilla finished in a three-way tie for second place with 74-75=149 and was just one stroke off the pace set up tournament medalist Ashlynd Madden of Mississippi College who shot 73-75=148.

Padilla's 75 including three birdies, six bogeys and nine pars as she records her first top-five performance of the season and team-leading fourth top-10 showing.

Mississippi College won the team title with a score of 604 including a final round 300. Host Emmanuel was second with 620, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne (626), Christian Brothers (633), William Carey (633), Tusculum (636), Converse (645), Barton (647), Cumberland, Tenn. (649), Belmont Abbey (670), Young Harris (681) and Spartanburg Methodist (782).

Tusculum's Delfin Filiz also posted a top-10 performance as the tied for 10th place with 75-79=154. TU rookie Maylei Hildenbrand posted back-to-back rounds of 78 for her 156 to finish in sole possession of 15th place, her fourth top-20 showing of the year. Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen shot 89-88=177 to finish 57th and Annabelle Mozingo placed 63rd with 92-88=180. Competing as an individual competitor, Lindy Carter shot 99-92=191 to finish 68th.

The Pioneers return to action in two weeks (Mar. 17-18) when they host the 27th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial at Link Hills Country Club. Tusculum is the defending champion and will be looking for its 10th McAmis title.
