Padilla in second after day one of Converse Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- Tusculum University's Reagan Padilla fired an even par 72 and is in second place after the first round of the 2024 Converse Spring Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the Carolina Country Club and hosted by Converse University.

The Pioneers posted a team score of 333 and are in seventh place in the 12-team tournament field.

Padilla is one shot out of lead, currently held by Lucy Wiegert of Young Harris as she accounted for a one-under par 71. She recorded four birdies, four bogeys and 10 pars for her round.

Milligan has the team lead after day one with 323. North Greenville is second with 327, followed by UNC Pembroke (328), Converse (331), Trevecca Nazarene (331), Lander B (332), Tusculum (333), King (345), Erskine (346), Young Harris (348), Shorter (349) and Emmanuel (350).

Tusculum's Lindsay Self and Adrienne O'Brien each shot 86 and are tied for 30th place. Emilie Bergh-Jacobsen is 42nd with 89, while Lindy Carter rounded out the scoring with her 101 (59th place).

The final 18 holes will be conducted on Tuesday.
