ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum University's Nilubol Panno has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.
Panno, a junior from Phuket, Thailand, tied a pair of program records in capturing medalist honors at this week's Jekyll Island Intercollegiate. She posted a three-under par total of 141 to match the lowest 36-hole score by a Pioneer.
She opened the tournament with an even par 72 and was in fifth place and two shots behind the leaders. She carded a career-low 69 to become only the third player in Tusculum history to post a sub-70 score. She finished strong going three-under par for her final six holes including a birdie on the 17th hole to seal her fourth career individual victory (T2nd most in TU history).
In her three events this year, she has a 74.5 stroke average and has finished in the top-10 three times including a pair of top-five performances. Her 77.18 career scoring average is the third-lowest in school history and her seven career top-five finishes are tied for the seventh most by a Pioneer.
