Keim in second, Pioneers third at Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. --- Tusculum University's Jennifer Keim posted a two-over par 74 and is in second place after the opening round of the 2019 Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. 

The Pioneers posted a team score of 311 and are in sole possession of third place and nine shots behind co-leaders Lenoir-Rhyne and Mount Olive.

Keim opened with a three-over par 39 on her first nine holes, but got stronger as the day progressed with a one-under par 35 on her inward nine including two under par on her final five holes.  She is one shot behind first day leader Johanna Andersson of Mount Olive, who fired a 73.  Keim is locked in a four-way tie for second with Beatriz Espelosin (Lenoir-Rhyne), Linn Andersson (Mount Olive) and Lindsey Burton (Mount Olive).

Tusculum's Bianca Findlay is sixth place with her 75 which included three bogeys and 15 pars. Taylor Gransen and Yen Xuan Ong both carded 81 and are tied for 17th place.  Sophomore Olivia Cunningham is 30th with 83 to round out the TU scoring.

Lander is fourth in the team standings with 314, followed by Lincoln Memorial (321), Coker (332), Emmanuel (332) and Newberry (334).

The tournament is being held at the par-72, 5,937-yard Panthers Run Course at the Ocean Ridge Plantation.
