ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- Tusculum junior Ciara Rattana carded a career-best two-under 70 and has the first round lead the 2016 Flagler Fall Slam. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the Marsh Creek Country Club and hosted by Flagler.
Tusculum posted a team score of 325 and is in 15th place after the first round of play.
Rattana has a two-shot lead over Flagler's Lara Ardler and is three shots clear of Noemie Pare of Barry University.
Rattana's 70 is the tied for the third-lowest round in school history and only one shot off the school record tally of 69 shared by Rachel McFarland (2003) and Amanda Bowen (2007).
Flagler and Barry each shot 301 and are tied for the lead. Seminole State is third with 303, while Wingate and Limestone are tied for fourth place with 310. Montevallo is sixth with 311, followed by the North Georgia (314), Tampa (318), Queens (319), Carson-Newman (319), Columbus State (323), King (324), Armstrong State (324), Embry-Riddle (324), Tusculum and Eckerd (336).
TC's Katie Tomassoni is tied for 40th place following her round of 80. Taylor White's 86 has her tied for 73rd, place, Taylor Lambertsen is 79th with 89 and Cydney Murrell rounded out the team scoring with 91 (T81).
TC rookie Maggienella Basile is playing as an individual competitor and is tied for 81st place with her 91. Kelsey Haun is also playing as an individual carded a 94 and is tied for 85th place.
The final round of the 16-team event will be held on Tuesday.
