CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team finished 14th at the Wingate University Intercollegiate Challenge Tuesday at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation.
The Pioneers finished with a two-day score of 698, including Tuesday's final round 345, an eight shot improvement over their opening round tally.
Ciara Rattana was Tusculum's top finisher as he posted 82-80=162 to tie for 24th place. Taylor Lambertsen and Calley Lawson both tied for 64th place with 90-85=175. Kelly Horrell carded 91-97=185 to finish 81st, while Lindsay Butler rounded out the team scoring with 100-95=195 (85th). Blythe Scrivner, playing as an individual competitor, shot 95-86=181 and tied for 71st.
Limestone College won the team title with 625, 10 strokes better than tournament runner-ups Newberry College and Converse College, who both fired 635. UNC Pembroke and USC Beaufort both tied for fourth place with 637, while King University finished sixth with 638. Queens University of Charlotte finished seventh with 650, followed by Lincoln Memorial University (656), Carson-Newman University (658), Wingate University (666), Pfeiffer University (676), Belmont Abbey College (679), Coker College (682), Tusculum, Lenoir-Rhyne University (720) and Mars Hill University (733).
Converse's Maddisen Cox fired 78-72=150 to capture medalist honors by two strokes over Limestone's Hannah Lucket (78-74=152).
The Pioneers return to action next Monday when they host the 16th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament at Link Hills Country Club.
