Cunningham fourth, Pioneers seventh at Converse Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team shot an opening day score of 331 and is tied for seventh at the 2015 Converse College Invitational. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the par-72, 5,824-yard Carolina Country Club.

Alec Cunningham led the Pioneers as she fired 77 and is tied for fourth place and is two shots behind first round leader Nicola Robertson of King University who carded a 75.

King University shot 314 and has the day one lead, nine shots in front of second place Mount Olive (323). Host Converse is third with 326, followed by Queens (327), Catawba (330), Pfeiffer (330), Tusculum, Erskine (331), Belmont Abbey (345), Emmanuel (349), Mars Hill (358), Converse B (359), Coker (362), Anderson (368), Lenoir-Rhyne (368),

TC's Ciara Rattana carded a 79 and is tied for ninth. Calley Lawson is tied for 36th following her 86, while Taylor Lambertsen posted an 89 and is tied for 46th place. Rookie Blythe Scrivner fired a 99 and is in 71st place.

Lindsay Butler posted a 91 (T53), while Kelly Horrell shot 94 (T66) playing as individual competitors for the Pioneers.

The final round will be held on Tuesday with a noon shotgun start.
