ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- The Tusculum College women's golf team fired an opening day score of 329 and is in ninth place at the 2014 Flagler Fall Slam. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being hosted by Flagler College and held at the par-72, 6,062-yard Marsh Creek Country Club.

The Pioneers are in the middle of the pack in this year's talented 15-team field. Fourth-ranked Lynn University holds the first round lead following Monday's opening 304. Lynn has a four-shot leader over host and fifth-ranked Flagler as the Saints posted 308. Seminole State College, the No. 2 ranked team in the NJCAA, is third with 310, followed by No. 22 Armstrong (311) and No. 10 Barry (320) to comprise the top-five.

No. 24 Montevallo and No. 38 Wingate are tied for sixth place with 323, while Limestone (327), Tusculum and Catawba (330) finish out the top-10. North Georgia and No. 26 Northeastern State are tied for 11th place with 332, followed by Tampa (340), Anderson (350) and Eckerd (356).

Tusculum freshman Ciara Rattana posted the best score of the opening round for the Pioneers as she fired an 80. Senior Alec Cunningham is tied for 32nd place following her 81, followed freshman Blythe Scrivner (83 - T41st), junior Calley Lawson (85 - T49th) and sophomore Taylor Lambertsen (89 - 70th) for the Tusculum individual scoring. Junior Kelly Horrell shot 101 and is in 81st place, playing as an individual competitor.

Barry's Francesca Perini shot a one-under par 71 and leads the tournament by one stroke over Jessica Bradley of Lynn University (72).

The final round will be played on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m.
