
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- Tusculum's Emee Herbert and Sara Howard are each mentioned twice in this week's Golfstat NCAA Division II national statistics.
The Pioneers are ranked 31st in the latest Golfstat DII head-to-head standings. Tusculum has finished third or better in four of its five tournaments, including first place honors at the TC Fall Classic.
Herbert's 73.50 scoring average this year is tied for the seventh lowest in the nation and is tied with Newberry's Barbara Castro's stroke average for the best in the South Atlantic Conference. The Johns Creek, Ga. sophomore finished third at the Flagler Fall Slam earlier this week, as she finished with a two-day score of 148, including a final round 70 (-2), tying for the third-lowest 18-hole score in Tusculum history.
Herbert, the 2011-12 SAC Freshman of the Year, is also sixth in the country in score vs. par (+1.50).
Howard continues to be listed amongst the national leaders in birdies. The Knoxville, Tenn. junior has recorded 21 birdies, which are tops in the conference and 11th in the nation. Howard is also tied for 17th in sub-par strokes per round (2.63).
As a team, Tusculum is ranked 15th in the nation in birdies (64) and 17th in sub-par strokes per round (1.68).
The Pioneers return to action Feb. 2-3 when they host the Tusculum/Kiawah Island Intercollegiate at Cougar Point Golf Club in Kiawah Island, S.C.
