
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --- Tusculum College
incoming freshman Emee Herbert fired a final round 69 to shoot a
one-under par 143 to win the 2011 Southeastern Junior Golf Tour Old
Fort Classic last week at the par-72 Old Fort Golf Club in
Murfreesboro.
Herbert, a native of Johns Creek, Ga., started the final round one
shot off the lead, but posted four birdies on the front nine to
finish four shots ahead of runner-up Lauren Johnson.
Last month, the Greater Atlanta Christian High School graduate
fired a one-over par 73 to win the Georgia Class AA State
Championship.
She led her high school squad to three Regional Championships.
During her prep career, she helped GAC to a pair of State Runner-up
performances (2009, 2011) and the 2010 State title.
Herbert is a 2010 All-State First Team selection, while also enjoying great success in junior golf. She played in the AJGA, Atlanta Junior Golf, PGA Junior and the Southeastern Junior golf tours. She has captured medalist honors on numerous occasions during her playing career.
Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of 10 colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
