
VALLEY PARK, Mo. --- The Tusculum women's bowling team went 2-3 on Saturday to move up to seventh place after day two of the 2023 Columbia 300 Saints Invite. The three-day, 12-team tournament is being held at the Bowlero Lakeside and hosted by 11th-ranked Maryville-St. Louis.
Five traditional games took place with Tusculum posting victories over North Central (897-764) and Spalding (860-686). TU's losses came to Lewis (926-797), host Maryville (861-766) and No. 22 Lincoln Memorial (898-829).
Tusculum's Emilee Horton had a solid day as she posted a total pinfall of 986 in her five traditional games as has her in 10th place with Sunday's match-up against Upper Iowa to close out the second round. Horton bowled three games over 200 including 226 in her third game of the day against North Central.
Allison Robbins is in 23rd place with 901 including a 192 in her final game of the day against LMU. Alexa Tieto is 31st with 858, Savannah Price bowled a 721 and is in 41st while Shayna Long is 43rd with 683.
Newman leads the tournament with 9,579 pins, followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater (9550), Maryville (9437), Lewis (9397), Lincoln Memorial (9335) and Central Missouri (9300). Tusculum and Wright State are tied for 8,482, followed by Upper Iowa (8432), North Central (8089), Illinois Wesleyan (6869) and Spalding (6779).
Following tomorrow's final traditional game of the weekend against Upper Iowa, the tournament will shift to Playoff Bracket Play with the tournament champion being determined.
