FAIRFIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Tusculum University women's bowling team went 3-2 on Saturday at the 2021 Hammer Bearcat Open. The Pioneers opened with three straight victories before dropping the last two of Saturday's traditional format contests.

Tusculum improves to 7-3 on the weekend and are in eighth place in the 16-team tournament field with its 8,783 total pinfall.

Tusculum's Hayli Stewart led the charge for the Pioneers as she finished 18^th individual with her 927 total pins while averaging 185.4. TU newcomer Allison Robbins placed 23^rd with 915 pins and a 183.0 average for her five games on Saturday. Alexa Tieto is 27^th with 905 (181.0), while Erin Burkart is 56^th with 633 (158.25). Abbygale Hunt logged 479 pins in her three games (161.0) which is 79^th. Samantha England placed 81^st with 463 for her three contests (154.33) to wrap up the TU scoring.

In Tusculum's 839-796 win over Carthage College, Stewart bowled a team-best 187, while Robbins followed with 186. TU made it two straight with an 849-769 victory against Carroll University. Tieto added her high score of 208 pins. The Pioneers posted a 923-793 triumph over Aurora University as Stewart led the way with 215, while Hunt finished with 179 for her first action of the day.

Tusculum dropped its first match of the day with an 868-814 setback to Kentucky Wesleyan. Robbins bowled a 167 against the Panthers and followed with a Saturday-best 232 in TU's 930-897 loss to 17^th-ranked Central Missouri.

The Pioneers move onto Sunday's bracket play matches as TU will have a rematch with Central Missouri.
