HICKORY, N.C. --- Tusculum University senior guard Mia Long has been named second-team All-Southeast Region in women's basketball by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Long, who was named first-team All-South Atlantic Conference last week, is the first Pioneer to be selected All-Region since Shynese Whitener was a first-team choice in 2015-16.

The Ann Arbor, Michigan native led the SAC in steals for the second straight season, and currently ranks second in Division II in both total steals (112) and steals per game (3.61). Her 112 steals broke the school single-season record of 109 that was set by Mitzi Alexander in 1991-92.

Long leads the Pioneers in scoring at 14.4 points per game, and has scored in double figures in eight straight games and 12 of the last 13. She is also averaging 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game and shooting 45.4 percent from the field.

Long earned MVP honors after averaging 15.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 4.3 steals in three games in the SAC tournament, including a game-high 22 points in a 61-49 victory over Anderson in the championship. On Feb. 22 against Coker, Long became the 19th player in school history to reach 1,000 points, and the only one to do it while playing just three seasons.

A former SAC Defensive Player of the Year, Long is the active Division II leader in steals per game (3.39) and ranks eighth among active DII players with 288 steals. She has at least one steal in 30 of 31 games this season, including 27 in a row.
