Tusculum College senior guard Jasmine Gunn remains 11th in
scoring average in this week's NCAA Division II Women's Basketball
statistics report, through games of Sunday, February 13.
Gunn leads the South Atlantic Conference and ranks third among all
players from the Southeast Region in scoring at 19.7 points per
game. Over the last week, Gunn averaged 20.5 points per game and
extended her streak of consecutive 20-point performances to
three.
Last season, the Nashville native and graduate of Antioch High
School ranked eighth in Division II in scoring at 21.6 points per
game and was also ranked in the top 40 in both steals per game and
assists per game en route to earning consensus Division II
All-America honors. For her career, the 4-11 Gunn ranks second in
program history and fourth in South Atlantic Conference history
with 2,052 points.
As a team, the Pioneers rank 33rd in Division II in rebound margin,
with an average of plus-5.8 rebounds per game over the opposition.
Tusculum is averaging 40.3 rebounds per game compared to 34.5
rebounds per game by its opponents. During its current 10-game
winning streak, Tusculum has outrebounded its opponents by a margin
of 9.8 boards per contest.
The Pioneers (16-6 overall, 12-2 SAC) can wrap up no worse than a
share of the South Atlantic Conference regular-season title when
they return to action Wednesday night at Anderson, with tip-off at
6 p.m.
