GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum's magical run in the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament began when the Pioneers won the 2010 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament in Hickory, N.C.
A replay of Tusculum's 67-55 victory over Newberry in the SAC Tournament championship game will be aired on Comcast Sports South (CSS) at 1 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. CSS is located on Comcast Channel 37 in Greeneville.
With the win over Newberry, the Pioneers earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA postseason while capturing the program's first-ever SAC Tournament title.
Tusculum (23-9) parlayed that bid into victories over the top three seeds of the NCAA Southeast Regional, including Monday's 70-63 come-from-behind win at 11th-ranked Lander as the Pioneers punch their ticket for the NCAA II Elite Eight in St. Joseph, Mo.
The Pioneers will face top-ranked Gannon (36-0) on Tuesday, March 23 in a national quarterfinal match-up at the St. Joseph Civic Arena, the host site of this year's NCAA II Elite Eight.
